Here we go again, ignorance, incompetence and stupidity. Not to mention here's another case of not caring about the safety of city employees.
The Dog has learned that Highland Park, in its infinite wisdom, has just acquired a new patrol car for the supervisors to use. Since none of the other cars run, Officers have been seen using this car as well. So what's the problem?? Well, the problem is that this car is used, and used to the extent that it has over 133,000 miles on it and its a 1999 model. Not a big deal? Well the vast majority of Ford Crown Vic patrol cars are plagued with problems after the 80,000 mile mark from wear and tear and abuse. This is something Ive witnessed first hand from past experience, especially if this is a former Detroit PD car, which it appears to be. So, it will be interesting to see how long this car actually lasts. I sure hope they didnt pay money for that car, not a wise investment. But, typical by Highland Park standards, especially when the city refuses to do routine maintenance on its fleet. Another waste of tax payer dollars. Wouldn't it make more sense to apply for a grant and buy a couple new cars? It also doesn't have spotlights, real safe! Oh yeah, nothing in Highland Park makes sense, I forgot.
The Dog has learned once again that Jones is up to her Shenanigans. According to sources, Jones has written up and threatened an officer with termination for expressing safety concerns about the vehicles.
Ok, so what is the point of documenting bald tires or damage or basically just the fact that the cars are falling apart, when nothing is done to fix them???? YOU JONES, need to take some responsibility, get off your fat ass and do your job! The cars are falling apart, they get flat tires because YOU FAIL TO SEE THAT THEY ARE MAINTAINED AND REPAIRED!!! Citizens, you see a pattern here? No accountability, no responsibility, just poor micro / mis management.
How are officers going to respond to calls for service when the cars don't run?? Citizens, you need to express your concerns to the Mayor and the Media! It already takes forever for officers to show up to their calls because of Detroit's half-ass dispatch system. With no cars, they aren't going to show up at all!!
Check out these pictures I have obtained. The HP Dog has seen first hand that there are only one or two patrol cars left that actually work in the Police Department. What a joke! Is it so hard to perform a little maintenance to keep your fleet operational?? I guess Highland Park doesn't believe so. But guess what, The city pays an employee that is supposed to perform maintenance on these cars. Funny though, I haven't seen him do his job in months. More tax dollars wasted!
Check out the video below. Officers were injured in this police chase. The tires on this patrol car were completely bald. Detroit PD completed an accident investigation and indicated that Defective Equipment / bald tires were a contributing factor to this crash. Hmmm.. Big Surprise there. Another example of The City of Highland Park disregarding the safety of it's employees.
HERES SOME MORE HIGHLAND PARK CARS
BALD TIRES
Its illegal to drive with a cracked windshield!!
More Defective Equipment
No Turn Signal!
Dangerously bald tires
CHECK OUT THESE VIDEOS BELOW, COMPLIMENTS OF MY READERS....KEEP THEM COMING!!!!
OVERHEATING CARS!! CAUSED BY A LACK OF MAINTENANCE!!
Deputy Chief Lanesha Jones is so quick to blame officers for the vehicle problems, yet the very officer that is paid to make sure the cars are maintained (including proper coolant levels) doesn't do his job. So Jones blames the officers for something she is responsible for. SOOO TYPICAL!!! What a Lack of Responsibility!!
Anyone who is a current of former employee of The City of Highland Park is fully aware of the risks they have taken on a daily basis. With the mismanagement getting worse and your safety even more at risk, I urge you to start filing OSHA Complaints.
Whether or not you are a current employee or former employee, you can file your complaint ANONYMOUSLY. COMPLAIN HERE: CLICK HERE TO FILE AN ANONYMOUS OSHA COMPLAINT Your name is required, but make sure you check the option "DO NOT reveal my name to my employer"
Thats an interesting question. The city is around 2 Square miles, most of which is residential. From the looks of driving up and the down the streets, it would appear that a little less than half of the homes are even occupied. So why is it so hard to keep order in a city of such small size?
Well the answer to that is simple: MISMANAGEMENT
Who is running our police department? Ill give you a clue, shes a criminal herself. Fired from Detroit PD for assault. Good choice Mayor Yopp!! Oh, let me guess, your just going to sit back and say, "I had no idea this was going on," just like every other time channel 7 interviews you. What a joke! You are fully aware of what is going on in your city since you micromanage your Chief, Deputy Chief and allow the City Attorney to make decisions which he IS NOT Qualified to make.
Police Officers are sworn to uphold the Constitution, laws of the State of Michigan and Ordinances of The City of Highland Park. Yet, anytime one of your Police Officers attempts to do his or her job, their hands become tied behind their back and they look the other way. Why is that ??? Well you cant blame the Officers. The Police Officers of Highland Park are paid $15.00 an hour with no benefits to risk their life. They are not paid overtime when they work over 40 hours a week. (last I checked this was illegal). Well I wish I could say the only issue here was "you get what you pay for." No, it goes way beyond that. The simple matter of police work is that when you do your job properly, there are a certain amount of citizens that are going to be angry and make complaints. Its the nature of the beast. But the administration of Highland Park doesn't see it that way. As Lt. Joelle Smith has been quoted as saying, "The Citizens aint gonna lie on you." and "If they said it, you did it." Really???!!!! Thats just fricken ignorant!! The officers drive around with blinders on because anytime that someone makes a complaint against them, that person is directed to go down to city hall and make a complaint with city administration. The patrol supervisors no longer have the authority to investigate officer complaints. The mentality of Highland Park administration is that if a complaint is made against you, its NOT investigated and YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY GUILTY. Several officers, mostly white, have been fired for UNFOUNDED, and FRIVOLOUS complaints...Hmmmmmm....
So citizens, can you really blame your officers for doing the bare minimum, when they are constantly in fear of losing their jobs?? I dont. Which is really sad. The city is small enough that with the proper leadership, the drug dealers and addicts could be driven out. But what can you expect when your administration includes convicted criminals.
Two Officers did try and put themselves out there and were instrumental in trying to get union representation for the police department. So, what happened?? Of course the city failed to cooperate. What about those officers? You guessed it, both terminated for unfounded and frivolous complaints or accusations.
Mayor Yopp, stop pretending like you have no idea whats going on in your city and do something. You say you care about the city and its employees so much, well put your money where your mouth is.
The new Deputy Chief that replaces the former corrupt regime took office recently. So Citizens, is this who you want running your Police Department???
Here's an investigation done by the Detroit Free Press:

About three years ago, Detroit police officer LaNesha Jones allegedly assaulted and injured a woman at a Detroit bar and, was later terminated from her job according to a department spokesperson. [/b]Now, she is helping to lead the Highland Park Police Department as the newly-appointed deputy chief.
Jones -- who did not return a call for comment -- was hired as a detective with the department more than two years ago and promoted in September. Highland Park Chief Lorenzo Veal II, who was promoted at the same time as Jones, said today that the department was aware of her past when she was hired.
"It wasn't an issue," Veal said, adding that the Detroit Police Department's "loss was our gain."
Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens confirmed Jones was terminated from the Detroit Police Department, but didn't know when. Jones had worked as sergeant in the homicide section prior to being charged in the assault.
According to minutes from the Detroit Board of Police Commissioner's Dec. 20, 2007 meeting, Jones was arrested at Flood's Bar & Grille on Nov. 7, 2007, after she allegedly struck the victim in the head with a beer mug and the victim, according to the minutes, received lacerations to her face.
In December 2007, according to the meeting minutes, a 36th District Court magistrate signed a felony warrant for Jones on charges of one count of felonious assault and one count of aggravated assault and she was later arraigned in front of a district court judge.
The state's Offender Tracking Information System, or OTIS, shows that LaNesha Roshawn Jones received a sentence on the aggravated assault charge.
Veal said he believes Jones received a six month, non-reporting probation.
Jones and Veal were both appointed in September, after the prior deputy chief and chief were removed. Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp, who could not be reached for comment today, told the Free Press in September that "Detective Jones is efficient in homicide work."
Veal, who said he had a hand in choosing the deputy chief, said Jones has been popular among citizens and has been professional. Her prior issue does not reflect on her ability to be a police officer, he said.
"She's qualified to do the job," Veal said. "We couldn't be happier here in Highland Park."
AND OF COURSE AS USUALLY....THE DOG HAS THE VIDEO!!
So How's Deputy Chief Jones doing so far? Well, let's see, the department is at an all time low! She clearly has NO CLUE what she is doing or how to run a Police Department. What are your opinions??
Be sure and add her as a friend on FACEBOOK and tell her how you feel
